You are about to meet 3 powerful women with incredible strength, stamina, and skill. From the strongest woman alive, to the best mixed martial artists fighter in the world, these are three women you definitely do not want to mess with. After seeing all of the amazing things each of them can accomplish, you may think they are just a freak of nature. However, they didn’t get their unbelievable abilities handed to them. They worked harder than most people can even imagine.
#1 Kati Luoto
Meet Finnish strength athlete Kati Luoto. Born in 1972, Luoto is the winner of the 2013 United Strongmen Women’s World Championships. She also won other contests such as Finland’s Strongest Woman (7 times), and Real Power Games Strong Woman. In 2007, she took 4th for Europe’s Strongest Woman. You can certainly say that Luoto has had her fair share of victories as a strength athlete.
Since 1999, Luoto has been taking her strength training very seriously. Her first contest did not take place until 2003, where she took second place at Finland’s Strongest Woman contest.

#2 Monique Bastos
Monique Bastos is a professional MMA fighter and jiu-jitsu practitioner from Brazil. In early September of 2015, she was on the way to her Jiu-Jitsu class. Two men arrived on a motorcycle demanding the cell phones of Bastos and her friends. After realizing that both men were unarmed, Bastos made a brave move. When they tried to escape after they retrieved the cell phones, instead of letting them get away, she lifted the rear wheel of the bike and both men fell to the ground.
Although one thief was able to run and get away, the other was not so fortunate. Bastos put the thief in a rear-naked choke and an inverted triangle submission. This left the suspect crying and begging for his life. So instead of Bastos being the victim, it looks like the real victim is the suspect. Fifteen minutes after being stuck in a submission hold, police arrived and arrested the attacker.
A Previous Attack On Bastos
This is the not the first time that Bastos has had to face an attacker out on the streets. She was once attacked by two men, but these attackers had knives. Like the recent attack, the men wanted her phone. Instead of just giving up her phone, Bastos decided to use her Jiu-Jitsu skills and fight back. Luckily, she was not only able to fight off her attackers, but she also got her phone back.
The next time a man (or even two men) wants to mess with Monique Bastos, they may think twice before they make a really dumb move (if they want to keep their dignity, and of course, their neck).
#3 Ronda Rousey
Ronda Jean Rousey is a mixed martial artist and the consensus #1 pound-for-pound female MMA fighter in the world (according to several publications such as MMARising). Rousey is also the very first and current UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion. This powerful female fighter is undefeated. Out of 12 fights, she has won 11 in the first round, with 9 of her 11 wins achieved by an armbar.
In September of 2015, Rousey visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show and claimed to be the current highest paid fighter in the entire UFC (both male and female). Of course, this is no surprise. She has the ability to not only finish off a fight quickly, but also make it look easy. Rousey has yet to meet an opponent with the skills needed to give her a really good challenge, much less to win the fight.
Ronda Rousey has certainly earned the right to be called the “baddest woman on the planet.” Her unbelievable skills are bound to bring her many more fast and entertaining victories to come.
Armbar Submission Wins
With all of the terrible violence that occurs these days, it makes perfect sense for not only men, but also for women to train a variety of martial arts. Self-defense training could help save many lives.
If you are one who thinks that all females are weak and cannot defend themselves against a man, think again. There are plenty out there that may surprise you. After reading these amazing stories, you may now think twice about ever underestimating anyone, especially those powerful women.
