This is an article about American alleged serial killer Herb Baumeister (April 7, 1947 – July 3, 1996). Baumeister was responsible for murdering 11 men (confirmed), with 9 others suspected (although some sources say 10 others). The murders occurred over a span of 16 years (1980s – 1996).

Meet Finnish strength athlete Kati Luoto. Born in 1972, Luoto is the winner of the 2013 United Strongmen Women’s World Championships. She also won other contests such as Finland’s Strongest Woman (7 times), and Real Power Games Strong Woman. In 2007, she took 4th for Europe’s Strongest Woman. You can certainly say that Luoto has had her fair share of victories as a strength athlete.
In 1987, I was 14 years old and living in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. A friend of mine told me he had a song he wanted me to hear. It was called, “The Legend of The Parlangua” by a band I had never heard of called Cahoots. I listened to it. It intrigued me. The song was about a swamp monster and how the singer goes out to kill it for killing his father and brother. In the end, he too is killed. I thought it was interesting but thought nothing more of it.
Years later, I was living in Gulfport, Mississippi when I played the song to someone I knew. They seemed to become tense and after the song told me of a run in they had at a rest area with the thing. I was shocked. I had thought it was just a great, creepy song.
